Can brown rice (or anything else be substituted for melba toast?

by Karen
(Atlanta, GA)

Can brown rice or something else be substituted for melba toast? I can't eat bread (and have to very strictly limit grains due to a gluten intolerance and digestive issues). I have chronic constipation and have to avoid bread and most grains.

Read the label on the melba toast to determine the calorie count. You can probably make the brown rice without any type of oil and measure out the same caloric amount as the melba toast.

You don't need to purchase the melba toast, just check it out next time you are at the grocery store.

You can also check out a calorie guide book
