Can I Eat Pineapple During the HCG Diet?
Coach Terri's Comments: Of course you can eat anything you want during the HCG diet. But if it’s not on the list of approved foods, you might thwart your weight reduction.
First of all, during the indulging phase, you can pretty much eat anything you want. However, during the weight loss phase, the protocol has you on a very restricted, 500 per day calorie diet. It is also very restrictive in regard to the types of food you consume. Unfortunately, pineapple is not on the original list of approved foods.
So you still want some pineapple do you? Well, you have a couple of choices.
You can talk yourself out of it because you know if you stay strict to the program you can lose around a pound of fat by tomorrow. Remind yourself that you can eat almost as much as you want during the maintenance phase.
If its within the first 3 weeks of the program, just say no-period. After you have been on the HCG Program for more than 3 weeks, you can choose to experiment.. You have probably established a gauge as to what your average daily weight loss is. So replace one of your fruits for one day with some fresh pineapple - canned has additional calories and less nutritional value. Give it a try... see if you are getting the same results. If you notice your weight loss is about the same as usual, go ahead and have it again. If not, take it right back out of your program and stay true to the phase 2 diet plan.
Good luck if you choose to experiment. Just be very cautious as you don’t want to slow down your weight reduction. You can always have pineapple later. :)
