Hydration and Weight Loss

Hydration and weight loss go hand in hand. Most dieter’s don’t realize that being properly hydrated helps with your metabolic rate so that you can lose weight faster. Water helps flush out the fat you are burning off with the HCG diet program and will prevent constipation.

Benefits of Staying Hydrated:

    3.    Abates Hunger so You Eat Less
    4.    Better Digestion
    5.    More Energy
    6.    Better Sleep

Improved Metabolism

A German study involving 14 people was performed regarding hydration. What they found was that when the participants drank 500ml (16 ounces) of water, their metabolism increased by 1/3 within the first 10 minutes of consuming the water. They also discovered that it remained high for at least another 1/2 hour.

So what does that mean to you? If over the course of a year, if you increased the amount of water you drank to 1-1/2 liters (about 50 ounces) per day, you would burn an additional 17,400 calories or about 5 pounds of fat. That is just from the water itself. It doesn’t include the side benefits of potentially reducing hunger and the urge to eat while increasing your energy.

 Flush out Toxins from Fat Burning

Whether you are losing weight on the HCG program or any other weight loss program or even just eating normally. You have to flush out the toxins from your body to stay healthy and to promote fat burning. If your liver is sluggish due to toxins overload, then it won’t be as efficient in burning your fat.

Abates Hunger

Did you know that sometimes people think that they are hungry but they are really experiencing thirst?. This means that you need to drink water BEFORE you get thirsty. So drink instead of eat, to see if the hunger is real. Of after you drink the additional water, you find that you are still hungry, then you are really hungry. If you find the water causes your hunger to disappear, you were just thirsty.

Thirst is an indicator that you are already dehydrated so be sure to drink even when you are not thirsty.

Better Digestion

When you are dehydrated, your digestive system does not work as efficiently. Your body has a more difficult time making digestive enzymes so you don’t get the nutrition from the food you are eating. Fewer nutrients, more hunger occurs as your body is trying to get the nutrients it needs.

Speaking of hydration, I have had clients that realized their acid reflux disappeared because they were no longer dehydrated.

More Energy and Better Sleep

With proper hydration you sleep better and have more energy. And if you are working out, you need even more water.

If your system is sluggish because it is not able to flush out the toxins form your body, there is a good chance you are not sleeping as well as you could. Drinking water helps to hydrate your muscles making it easier to relax and get a good night’s sleep.

Tip For Hydration and Weight Loss 

Count how many 1/2 liter (16 ounce) water bottles you need during the day. So if you weigh 150 pounds, you will need about 75 ounces of water - about 5 bottles. Get 5 rubber bands and put them on your wrist at the start of the day. You can also use 16 ounce glasses for this. 

When you start to drink your first bottle/glass of water, take one rubber band off. Then when you start to drink the second bottle, remove the another rubber band. This will make it easy to keep track of your progress.
